Nice start on the Amber Fox build. The X670E-A motherboard should handle the 9800X3D well, and the cooler looks solid for a HTPC setup.
Make sure to update the BIOS on the X670E-A before installing the 9800X3D for optimal compatibility.
Remember to check the motherboard manual for the best RAM slot configuration with just one stick for initial setup, especially since it's a single 16 GB kit.
Considering this is a HTPC, have you thought about how the 650W PSU might affect noise levels during quiet operation?
@lisa98 Thanks for the heads-up. I haven't installed it yet, so noise levels are still unknown, but I'll keep an ear out during testing and see how it performs in quiet mode.
@daan_byte Since this is a HTPC, are you planning to use it mainly for gaming, media playback, or both? That could help determine if the PSU noise will be a bigger factor.
@sem47 Thanks for asking! I plan to use the Amber Fox for both gaming and media playback, so I'll be listening closely to the PSU noise during both types of use to see how it behaves.
